Another week has passed which means its time for me to update my weekly blog!
This week I just wanted to say how lovely it was seeing people pulling together and going the extra mile. It is great to see communities feeling supported during this crisis.
I have been making lots of contacts with people and offering support and advice as best as I can. Having in depth chats and getting to know people in more detail.
I am amazed at how many highly skilled and intriguing people there are in our local communities. It is always great to hear about a person’s achievements, interest and hobbies.
Physical activity for everyone
Last week I spoke about exercise for our minds so this week I wanted to speak about physical exercise. Currently many people are unable to leave the home, so exercising outside is not an option for them but there are alternative things we can do at home. This was brought to my attention during a telephone call with Social Prescribing Link Worker member of staff from one of our partner organisations.
She was telling me about how she has been motivating people to follow her YouTube workouts which range from chair based exercises to light aerobic classes and that some of the older population are learning how to access the internet so the could participate.

I thought this was fantastic, so thought I would share a link to her page for anybody who wants to participate in some exercise within their home environment. Carolyn is a fully qualified exercise referral instructor so you know you are in safe hands 😊
