The Health Care and Associated Professions (Indemnity Arrangements) Order 2014 mandates all healthcare professionals to have relevant indemnity insurance. The scope of indemnity covered would determine if social prescribers need professional indemnity insurance. We strongly recommend organisations communicate the scope of cover to social prescribers.
Social Prescribers and Link Workers are critical to the Covid-19 response and are key workers in health, social and community care. They are frontline workers providing emergency planning and mental wellbeing support to vulnerable groups and those asked to self-isolate during the Covid-19 crisis.
